Tick & Mosquito Control

– Flea & Tick Control –

Ticks are tiny, blood-feeding parasites found throughout America, but especially in the northeastern United States. They carry diseases such as Lyme disease, Babesiosis, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever, which can pose serious health risks to you, your family, and your pets.

Fleas are another type of blood-feeding parasite, and while they do not carry the same kinds of diseases ticks do, they can infest your home quickly, living in your pet’s fur, or in infested grass and dirt outside.

Both of these tiny, yet potentially dangerous creatures crawl around in places you would like to think are “safe zones” in your backyard.

The most effective strategy to combat and prevent fleas and ticks is with professional treatments that are safe for your entire family.

How It Works

To ensure that your yard is free from fleas and ticks all year round, Ken’s Tree Care follows a 3-step process for prevention and control.

  • Assessment: First, our professional arborists will inspect your trees and yard for signs of flea and tick activity. All you have to do is call us at (201) 768-0694 to make an appointment.
  • Flea and Tick Yard-Spray:  Our yard spray insecticide is formulated to significantly reduce any existing flea and tick populations in your yard or garden. Early diagnosis means that we can treat with less aggressive methods and materials, like natural predators, horticultural oils, insecticidal soaps, or with cultural practices such as pruning affected branches.  This allows problems to be corrected sooner and with less environmental impact.

Integrated Pest Management: To maintain an insect-free yard, we offer Integrated Pest Management, a Plant Health Care technique in which our certified technicians continually monitor plants throughout the growing season. They can uncover insect and disease potential before they become problems. Your IPM program will change with your landscape’s needs.

– Mosquito Control –

Mosquitoes are more than just frustrating backyard pests – they carry and spread dangerous diseases. As these insects become more prevalent across the United States, so do the reported cases of West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), and other dangerous diseases such as the Zika virus.

Even if these diseases are not a current threat in your area, it is important to take preventative action to make sure your family is as protected as possible from these tiny, yet dangerous insects.

How It Works

At a recommended minimum of four times per year, we will apply a treatment spray to control the mosquitoes in your yard or garden. To ensure the most effective mosquito control, we recommend that applications be made every 30 days at the height of mosquito season and/or when virus outbreaks occur.

Our treatment sprays can be applied to:

  • Shade trees up to 20-feet tall
  • Tall grass
  • Shaded areas around buildings and homes where mosquitoes congregate
  • Flower beds
  • Mulched areas
  • Shrubs
  • Fence lines
  • Leaf litter
  • Under decks
  • Around pools and patios
